Reading to End Racism

We had a special guest reader in first grade today. Susan, a volunteer with Reading to End Racism, came to our class to discuss issues of bias, prejudice, and vigilance. She read a book called, My Name is Sangoel, to help the children understand one perspective of a refugee coming to the United States.  She was so impressed with the background knowledge and attentiveness of the children, that she is hoping to visit our class again to read another story! We would love to have her visit again.  Ask your child to tell you more!
