Lettuce Planting and Compost Lesson

We had a wet, but nice walk with Mrs. Koch's class to the High School to tour the greenhouse, plant lettuce, and visit the school's chickens. Chrissy from Central Vermont Waste Management District, led the activities along with the help of several high school students. Later, Chrissy joined us in the classroom to talk about the compost cycle. We played a great game to help us determine what items can be recycled, composted, re-used, or sent to the landfill.
